Relações de namoro, género e sexualidade adolescente

Abstract

Esta investigação, no âmbito das Ciências Sociais e Humanas, pretende aprofundar o conhecimento da sexualidade e género, caracterizando as atitudes de adolescentes face ao namoro heterossexual. A amostra do estudo é constituída por alunos(as) do Ensino Secundário (N=362), de ambos os géneros, que pertencem a uma escola pública de uma área urbana, a frequentar os cursos Científico-Humanísticos e Profissionais dessa instituição. Para a obtenção e recolha dos dados foi utilizado um instrumento: Questionário "Relações de Namoro, Género e Sexualidade Adolescente", que incluía uma Escala de Atitudes face ao Namoro Adolescente. Nesta Escala de Atitudes foram contempladas as seguintes dimensões: Controlo Parental/Social, Autonomia e Liberdade Individual na Relação, Controlo do Namoro, Sexualidade e Expressão de Afetos e Sentimentos. Os resultados obtidos demonstram que, não existe um duplo padrão sexual no que se refere às atitudes relacionadas com o Controlo Parental/Social no namoro. Contudo, verificámos que existe um esbatimento do duplo padrão comportamental, nas atitudes relacionadas com a Autonomia e Liberdade Individual e em parte, nas atitudes relativas à Expressão de Afectos e Sentimentos. Por outro lado, constatámos que persiste um duplo padrão sexual, com diferenças significativas, entre os géneros, relativamente às atitudes que dizem respeito ao Controlo do Namoro, ao Sexo e Práticas Sexuais. - ABSTRACT: This research, in the sphere of the Social Sciences and Humanities, aims to increase knowledge of sexuality and gender, characterizing the altitudes of adolescents towards heterosexual dating. The study sample consists of secondary school students (N = 362) of both sexes, who are altending a public school in an urban area. These students are taking the scientific-humanities and professional courses. To obtain and collect the data we used the following instrument: A questionnaire "Dating Relationships, Gender and Adolescent Sexuality", which included a range of Altitudes towards Teen Dating. ln this Scale of Altitudes the following dimensions were covered: Parental/Social Control, Autonomy and Individual Freedom in the Relationship, Controlled Dating, Sexuality and Expression of Affection and Feelings. The results show that there is not a double sexual standard with regard to attitudes related to Parental/Social Control in dating. However, we found that there is a blurring of the double behavioural standard, in the altitudes related to Autonomy and Individual Freedom and partly in the attitudes related to the Expression of Affection and Feelings. On the other hand, we noticed that there is still a double sexual standard, with significant differences between the sexes, in relation to the altitudes concerning Courtship Control, Sex and Sexual Practices.
