Assim, no atendimento ao utente da RM deve considerar-se as suas necessidades específicas e procurar dar-lhes resposta; Individual and contextual variables as predictors of MRI-related anxiety Abstract: This research aimed to study gender, education level, body part examined, and the existence of information given by the doctor who prescribes the examination as predictors of perceived anxiety (PA) in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The prediction relationships were analysed through structural equation modeling in LISREL8.80 software. The results indicate that being female, having a higher level of education and not receiving information about the examination, predicts higher PA in MRI. Contrary to expectations, the body part examined was not a good predictor of PA, and a higher level of education predicted higher levels of PA. The results seem to indicate that MRI patient’s preparation (receiving information) is more important, considering their individual characteristics (education level and gender). Therefore, the service provided to MRI users must consider their specific needs and seek to respond to them.por
